After a mutual decision to terminate the contract with Manchester United, the Portuguese star has moved to Al Nassr FC (Nassr, meaning “victory”), which is a Saudi Arabian football club based in Riyadh.

Al Nassr FC is one of the most successful clubs in Saudi Arabia, with 27 championships in all comptetitions.

The club has won a fair share of trophies at domestic level – at domestic level, Al Nassr has won nine Premier League titles, six King’s CUps, three Crown Prince’s Cups and two Saudi Super Cups.

Al Nassr has managed to win trophies at international level too, they have won two GCC Champions Leagues and earned a historic Asisan double in 1998 by claiming bith the Asian Cup Winner’s cup and the Asian Super Cup.

The Clup was founded on 24th October 1955, Al Nassr’s home coloers are yellow and blue, whereas their away color is only blue.

Cristiano Ronaldo will join the 2023 season for the club where he will be joined by VIncent Aboubakar from Cameroon, Oity Martinez from Argentina, Glihslain Konan from Ivory Coast, Luiz Gustavo and Talisca from Brazil, David Ospina from Colombia, Álvaro González from Spain.

AL Nassr Meaning

Al Nassr is the arabic word for Victory, clubs with same name are found in Oman, Kuwait, Baharain, UAE and LIbya, but the Saudi Arabian club was the first to take the name.

With yellow and blue colours, the club’s logo depicts a map of Arabia. Yellow represents the beautiful sand of the Arabian deserts, and blue represents the magnificent water that surrounds the Arabian Peninsula in the Arabian Sea, the Arabian Gulf, and the Red Sea. The old logo was recently replaced by a “more modern version,” but it is still heavily influenced by the old club logo. The new logo represents only the football team, whereas the old logo represents the entire club.

Ronaldo will earn a reported €90 million a year basic salary, with interwined commercial deals bringing that figure upto €200 million. At the club Ronaldo will wear his trademark number 7 shirt, that he has donned at every club he’s played since joining Manchester United in 2003.
